Lake Weiss Fishing Report – August 2023

GON Staff | July 26, 2023

Weiss: Level: 0.2 below 564. Temp: Low 80s. Clarity: Mostly clear.

Multiple Species: Guide Mark Collins reports, “Bass fishing is good, and most have moved to the creek and river channel ledges. Carolina rigs and crankbaits are catching fish. Crappie fishing is fair, and they have moved to deeper water where they can be caught spider rigging with live minnows over deep brush. Shooting docks with jigs is also producing some fish. Striper fishing is good, and they are being caught in Little River and the Chattooga River on live shad downlined and freelined. Catfish are biting good in the bays and creeks in 8 to 15 feet of water. Cutbait is working best.”
