Lake Sinclair Fishing Reports – November 2020
GON Staff | October 29, 2020
Sinclair: Level: 1.2 feet below full pool and steadily dropping. Temp: 69 up the river to 73 on the main lake. Clarity: There is stain up Little River and Murder Creek. The backs of some creeks, even Rooty Creek, is stained from recent rains.
Bass: Tournament angler Karl Pingry reports, “According to Ed at Lakeside Chevron, Sinclair is starting its drawdown starting Monday, Oct. 26. The lake will be more dangerous to navigate, and not all boat ramps will be in use. Lakeside Chevron and Dennis Station will still be available to launch from. In the last two weekends, it has taken 18.5 and 19.5 to win tournaments held on Sinclair. Black buzzbaits in the backs of the stained pockets is the hot ticket. Better sacks have come from Little River, Rooty Creek and up the Oconee River. Chartreuse and white spinnerbaits, ChatterBaits, Super Flukes and dark Ole Monster worms are the other baits to have on your deck. Look for the bait to move a lot while Georgia Power draws down the lake. I’m guessing the shad will eventually move out to the fronts of the pockets during the drawdown and then start moving back into the pockets again after the lake has completed its drawdown. Keep your eyes on your electronics to tell you the depth the shad are holding and another set of eyes on the water in front of you to see obstructions that used to be underwater that are now a danger to your lower unit.”
Crappie: Allan Brown reports, “Crappie fishing is good now trolling in all major creeks in 10 to 15 feet of water. Brushpile fishing continues to be good, as well. Fish can be caught in deep water while the water is down.”
