Lake Sinclair Fishing Reports – June 2021
GON Staff | May 27, 2021
Sinclair: Level: 1.6 feet low Temp: 78-82 degrees. Clarity: Clearing with no rain, but there is a little color in the rivers and clear below the 441 bridge all the way to the dam.
Bass: Tournament angler Karl Pingry reports, “There are several patterns working right now. Most of them should work for the month of June. Flipping docks is a hot ticket right now with a dark-colored Zoom Ol’ Monster worm or a shaky head with dark colors. Black emerald and junebug red are colors mentioned by Ed at Lakeside Chevron. Crankbaits are also working. Little Earls and a Berkley No. 7 in chartreuse and white. One other crankbait working is a Bandit 200 in chartreuse and pearl. That bait is also working well under the lights fishing the Friday night tournaments. First thing in the mornings throw a black buzzbait and a Pop-R for topwater success. The key is finding stained water, says Ed. The shad spawn will last maybe one more week. Look for rip-rap, grass and docks with the telltale sign of shad flipping up on the structure. Spinnerbaits, shallow cranks and Trick Worms are baits to throw. Also look for bream beds around each full moon. The bass will be nearby. Don’t forget the mayfly hatches will also be a hot ticket this month. Watch the trees and bushes near the bank for the mayflies. If you see the bugs or the bream beds, try that buzzbait, swim jig, prop baits in bluegill colors. Also try shaky heads with a Trick Worm in green pumpkin with a dyed chartreuse tail.”
