Lake Sinclair Fishing Report – October 2009
GON Staff | September 29, 2009
Sinclair: Level: 0.3 feet below full. Temp: 80-84 degrees. Clarity: Heavy stain.
Bass: “They’re in 2 feet of water,” said Mike Cleveland. “I can’t wait for the BFL this weekend. I’m really looking forward to that.” Mike said the fish are in the back one-thirds of the pockets. He’s flipping a black/blue, 1/4-oz. jig around docks. “Just follow the bait into the backs of the pockets,” said Mike. “I’ve been fishing up the Little and Oconee rivers.” Mike also flips an Ol Monster worm in junebug, looking for a bigger bite. “There’s still a few mayflies around,” said Mike. “You’ll see them on up into November. Seems like we get a hatch after it rains.” When these bugs hatch, a topwater bite throughout the day is possible. Mike fished topwater on the last hatch until 2 p.m. He prefers a Pop-R. If the fish won’t take it, he’ll follow up with the jig.
