Lake Sinclair Fishing Report January 2014

GON Staff | December 30, 2013

Sinclair: Level: 1 foot below full pool. Temp: 52-55 degrees. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass: Tournament angler Aaron Batson reports, “Bass fishing is good, especially for numbers. Look for schools of fish on the graph, and work them vertically with either a 3/4-oz. War Eagle jigging spoon or a drop shot. I recently got a 7-foot Kissel Kraft spinning rod that is just amazing for the drop-shot bite. It is very light and extremely sensitive. It has helped a bunch for detecting the light bite. I am dropping a Wackem Crazy Baits Pointy Tail worm in green-pumpkin color with the tail dipped in chartreuse JJ’s Magic. For shallow fish, a 1/4-oz. Rat-L-Trap or 200 Bandit will work well.”
