Lake Sinclair Fishing Report January 2012

GON Staff | December 29, 2011

Sinclair: Level: 1.6 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid 50s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Aaron Batson reports, “The bite has been good so far with the mild temperatures that we have been having. Jigs and shaky heads on docks and seawalls have been producing well. Try anything in black, brown or blueish colors, and you will do well. Recently I have been using Duckett Rods and can’t say enough good things about them. No doubt you will feel more bites with them and still have the power to move a fish out of cover and into the boat. Give them a try, and you will be impressed as well. Later this month and depending on colder temps, fish will move deep. Look for them to be in deep ditches and coves just off the main lake. Yo-yo a 3/4-oz. Rat-L-Trap over these fish, and you can load the boat. On very cold days, drop down a 7/8-oz. War Eagle jigging spoon, and vertically fish the same areas. The key depth is 20 to 25 feet.”
