Lake Sinclair Fishing Report – April 2010

GON Staff | March 30, 2010

Sinclair: Level: 0.7 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid to upper 50s. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: Good. “The most consistent pattern has been grass, and it will stay hot throughout April,” said Kip Carter. “In April the water temp will warm to 65 plus, and the fish will begin to bed. Use lizards and spinnerbaits in the grass, stumps and on seawalls.” Mike Cleveland said they’ve moved up, and he’s been catching fish from the middle to all the way back in the pockets. He thinks the big move to the beds should happen soon if it hasn’t already by the time you read this. Spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps have been producing for Mike. He said to just throw the Trap out into the middle of the sandy pockets. He likes a 3/8-oz. spinnerbait in white/chartreuse with double Colorado blades in gold. The best Trap has been a 1/2-oz. model in chrome/blue. Also, blind fishing for beds around stumps and laydowns with a Texas-rigged lizard has been pretty good for big bites.
