Lake Seminole Fishing Reports – November 2020

GON Staff | October 29, 2020

Seminole: Level: 0.2 feet below full pool. Temp: Low 70s. Clarity: The water is clear now, but that will change with rains up river. .

Bass: Guide Paul Tyre of Lake Seminole Fishing Adventures reports, “As the water temperatures continue to move downward, the bass fishing will get even better. The big bass have been biting. We had the opportunity to catch 10 bass in the 8- to 10-lb. range in the last several weeks. As we move into November, the bass will begin to feed heavily on shad. Moving baits like spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and crankbaits will be productive. The key this time of year is to find the bait, and the bait is shad. One of my favorite buzzbaits is a Nichols Reflex buzzbait. It is a head-slammer style buzzbait that the big bass can’t resist. A longer rod with a higher-speed gear ratio reel works best. I prefer a Temple Fork Outfitters 7-4 Tactical Bass Series in heavy action. This rod has a soft tip, which allows you to make a long cast, but it has the backbone to get the bass out of the grass. I use this same setup for the spinnerbait with a little slower reel—no more than a 6:3.1 gear ratio—fished along over the edges of the grasslines in the main lake.”

Guide Aaron Crews reports, “Bass are schooling on the shad and can be taken on speed worms, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. There is also a flipping bite in the middle of the morning. In late November, the weather should cool the lake and move fish deeper. A jigging spoon, Little George, drop shot and a jig bite could develop.”

Panfish: Guide Aaron Crews reports, “The fishing is great now due to stable weather. Shellcracker, bream, redbreast and bluegill are on worms and crickets in 3 to 7 feet of water along lily pads and grasslines. Hybrids are schooling on shad and can be taken on spoons, Rat-L-Traps and small shad-patterned crankbaits. Crappie are in 10 to 15 feet of water and being caught on minnows. There is also an A-rig bite on bass and hybrids schooling on shad.”
