Lake Rabun Fishing Report – May 2008

GON Staff | April 29, 2008

Rabun: Level: Full pool. Temp.: Low 60s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: “The spotted bass are the biggest I have seen this year,” said Wes Carlton. “Last week we boated 11 fish in an hour with the smallest 3 pounds and the largest 6 pounds.”

Walleye: The walleye fishing is starting to slow down, said Wes. “We had a great April with several fish in the 4-lb. range and a couple in the 5-lb. range. The walleye have started heading down the lake to their summer spots. Try finding the rocks mid-lake. May is a good month for using Easy Grubs.”
Perch: Good. Fish nightcrawlers or minnows on the bottom in the creek mouths or channel ledges.
