Lake Rabun Fishing Report June 2011

GON Staff | May 26, 2011

Rabun: Level: Full pool. Temp: 72 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Walleye: Wes Carlton reports, “The walleye are on an early summer pattern. These fish have been eating early on top and moving deeper after 10 a.m. We have been catching most of our fish on crankbaits — No. 5 Shad Raps and Jig Wobblers in a firetiger pattern. Last week we boated a couple fish heavier than 6 pounds and several in the 3- to 4-lb. range. Trolling for these guys can be tricky. Try slower speeds at about 2 mph, and then progressively work toward 3 mph if you’re not having much luck.”
