Lake Oconee Fishing Report September 2012

GON Staff | August 29, 2012

Oconee: Level: 0.4 feet below full pool. Temp: 90 degrees. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass: Aaron Batson reports that the recent rains and somewhat cooler temperatures have pushed the bass a little shallower. “Look for areas with baitfish present, and try a 1/4-oz. Ol Nelle buzzbait in all white, especially early in the mornings,” said Aaron. When you find a fish willing to eat topwater, work the area over with a 1/4-oz. chrome Rat-L-Trap. Expect this action early in the mornings. “Once the sun gets up, slow down and work docks and wood cover with a 1/8-oz. Net Boy Baits ScrewBall jighead with a Wackem Crazy Baits Big Sissy Worm.”
