Lake Oconee Fishing Report – October 2010

GON Staff | September 29, 2010

Oconee: Level: 0.2 feet below full pool. Temp: 82-83 degrees. Clarity: The lower lake should remain clear, but up the rivers will be muddy.

Bass:
Kip Carter won the Oconee Marine event over the weekend by going up the river in a jet boat. This month, Aaron Batson said to look for balls of shad on top, and fan cast Rat-L-Traps, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits in these areas. Bait is at the mouths of pockets and creeks, but by the end of the month fish and bait should be in the backs of the pockets. Look for a good dock bite to evolve. Jigs, big worms and Sweet Beavers will work.
