Lake Jackson Fishing Report – September 2024

GON Staff | August 28, 2024

Jackson: Level: 0.4 feet above 528. Temp: Upper 80s to low 90s. Clarity: Stained in the rivers, and the main lake is clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Willie McMullen reports the good news is that boat traffic will be less after Labor Day weekend, and shallow-water fishing should improve. Target spots on deeper seawalls and natural banks with topwater in the mornings. Anything from a Pop-R to a Sammy will work. Some days they want one and some days the other, so try both until you find what they want. After the early bite, target shade of deeper docks. They are even better if they have brush. Fish a Texas-rigged worm on dock posts, floats and any brush you find. Later in the month, look for bait, and bass will be close to it. The lake will start to draw down in October.”
