Lake Hartwell Fishing Report – November 2023

GON Staff | October 25, 2023

Hartwell: Level: 5.6 below 660. Temp: 65-70 degrees. Clarity: Stained from the turnover.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The bass fishing has been tough, and the turnover is still effecting some areas of the lake, but this should be over soon, and the fish will start feeding up on baitfish.  This time of year is my favorite time to fish with less boat traffic, and the fish are usually more active. For shallow fish, you can throw a spinnerbait, crankbait or jerkbait in the creeks around rocks or laydowns and catch a few bigger largemouth. For bass that are following the baitfish on the main lake and at the mouths of creeks and ditches, a Blade Runner with a Zoom Fluke, a drop shot or a jigging spoon will be good lures to use as cooler November weather rolls around. In areas where bass are actively feeding on bait, I keep my Southern Hook Lures Fickle and a Zoom Fluke ready. After they slow down, I wind an Alabama rig with Zoom Swimmin’ Flukes.”
