Lake Hartwell Fishing Report – March 2023

GON Staff | March 1, 2023

Hartwell: Level: 1.3 below 660. Temp: 58-62 degrees. Clarity: 1 to 4 feet.

Bass: Guide Matthew Justice reports, “Fishing is really picking up, and tournament weights are exceptionally high. The fish are in transition toward spawning areas and will be on bed as water temps stabilize a bit more. Fish can currently be found in transition areas such as points at the mouths of pockets or creeks. Channel docks and flats in creeks can also hold fish this time of year. Crankbaits (DT6 in red), jerkbaits (110+1) and Alabama rigs can trick these bass into biting. Once fish are on bed, a shaky head is hard to beat.”
