Lake Hartwell Fishing Report – April 2023

GON Staff | March 29, 2023

Hartwell: Level: Full at 660. Temp: 60-68 degrees. Clarity: 1 to 4 feet.

Bass: Guide Matthew Justice reports, “The fishing is really starting to pick up as large waves of fish push to the bank. Some fish are held up on staging areas: Docks, secondary points and rocks. Fish will be on the bed all month. These spawning bass prefer protected coves for nest building. Fish can also be found postspawn on points around the herring and shad spawn. Top baits this month would be a wacky worm, shaky head and a swimbait.”
