Lake Eufaula Fishing Report October 2013

GON Staff | September 25, 2013

Eufaula: Level: 2.1 feet above full pool. Temp: Mid 80s. Clarity: Clearing.

Bass: Guide Sam Williams reports, “The bass are working on topwater really good. The bite is holding later in the mornings now. Frogs are really strong, as are hard topwater baits. The bite down south has been strong the past week or so. Jigs and shaky heads are also producing some good stringers. Be sure and work a Carolina rig and deep cranks on the brushpiles and cover on the ledges. With deer season and football underway, the lake has less traffic, good news for the serious fisherman.”

Catfish:
Sam said, “Catfish are cooperating most any time. Jugging is always fun if you get up in a creek out of the wind where you can keep the jugs corralled up. Barbour Creek near the bridge has some big cats for sure. It takes a lot of attention, those big boys will have a jug out past the barges and headed to the river in no time.”
