Lake Chatuge Fishing Reports – February 2021

GON Staff | January 29, 2021

Chatuge: Level: 7.5 feet below full pool. Temp: 46-47 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Guide Eric Welch reports, “Fish have been scattered. We’ve been catching fish 20 to 40 feet deep on long points and rocky banks. Most fish have come on a drop shot using a 4.5-inch Roboworm. I’ve also been catching some fish on a Z-man Ned rig with a TRD worm and a 3/16-oz. shaky head with a 5-inch Strike King shaky head. If you’re good with your electronics and find some fish stacked up, try a 1/2-oz. spoon, a Damiki Rig or a 3/8-oz. Moon Eye Jig. As far as crankbaits go, I like throwing a Rapala DT6 this time of year, along with a 1.5 square bill. I’ve also been throwing a Lucky Craft Pointer jerkbait and a 3.25-inch Strike King Rage Swimmer. This time of year is time to start throwing the A-rig around docks and points. The jig bite has been slow for me, but you can try a 3/8-oz. pb&j or a 3/8-oz. green pumpkin.”
