Lake Burton Fishing Reports – November 2023

GON Staff | October 25, 2023

Burton: Level: 2.2 feet below 1866.66. Temp: 63 degrees. Clarity: Semi-stained.

Bass: Guide Wes Carlton  reports, with Georgia Lake Fishing guide service reports, “The bass bite has been very consistent the last few days. The topwater bite has taken off with the cooler temps we’ve had. We have had success throwing a  Rebel Pop-R midway back in the creeks. Most of these fish have been chasing the schools of herring around. A weighted pearl fluke has been producing some bigger fish in and around docks. Look for the pre-winter transition bite to pick up soon as the water temps dive this month. November is always a good month on the north Georgia lake to catch some huge bass!”

Brown Trout: Guide Wes Carlton reports, reports, “The bite has been a little slow lately. We have had some success with surfacing fish on the main-lake channel. A lot of the mature fish are up in the creeks spawning in November. This is a good time to target these fish in 2 to 6 feet of water. Most 3- to 4-inch jerkbaits work well in a herring color. This bite should really take off as we head into December.”
