Lake Burton Fishing Reports – November 2020

GON Staff | October 30, 2020

Burton: Level: Full pool. Temp: 66 degrees. Clarity: Semi-stained.

Bass: Capt. Wes Carlton reports, “The spotted bass bite has been great the last few days. We have been using underspins tipped with flukes fishing over a 20- to 25-foot bottom. We have caught a few fish up shallow on points midday throwing a Sebile Magic Swimmer in the herring color. The largemouth bite has been good, also. Flukes and swimbaits seem to be working best for these fish. Most of the largemouth are up shallow in the backs of creeks right now. We have a lot of new water from the recent hurricane, but the lakes have cleared up in the last few days with minimal debris.”

Trout: Capt. Wes Carlton reports, “The brown trout bite has been slow this week. We have caught a few fish trolling in the 20-foot range over the main-lake channels. Hopkins spoons seem to be the ticket for these fish. Look for this bite to get better in a couple of weeks as we get into mid November.”
