Lake Burton Fishing Report – November 2024

GON Staff | October 30, 2024

Burton: Level: 3.2 feet below 1866.66. Temp: 66 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Guide Tyler Clore reports, “Most of the largemouth are shallow between 2 and 12 feet. We have had success throwing a Spro Little John in white. Most of these bass are on points and in the backs of the pockets. Look for schooling fish. They are chasing the smaller herring. We have been catching these fish by casting a Jackall Riser in bone color. Work these baits like a wake bait, and be patient. This pattern should continue for the next couple of weeks until the water temps dive into the lower to mid 50s. We will then be looking forward to winter and the spoon and underspin bites.”

Brown Trout: Guide Tyler Clore reports, “The bite has been consistent the last few days. We have been catching most of our trout on blue jerkbaits. These fish have been coming up on topwater baits on the main lake in the middle of the channel. We have had the best success drifting in the channel while sight fishing for them. We have caught a few trout by floating nightcrawlers behind planer boards. This bite should continue to get better the next month or so. Remember, trout like cold water. Most of the adults are getting ready to spawn this month and should be back down the lake by December.”
