Lake Burton Fishing Report – May 2009

Burton: Level: Full pool. Temp: Mid 60s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Good. May is the month to throw swimbaits, like a Strike King Shadilicious, for big spotted bass at Burton. A Spot Sticker is also a good bait. Fish in the 5- to 6-lb. range are not uncommon.

Trout: Good. Fish main-river channels with large bass minnows or a plug like a Lucky Craft Pointer to catch big 2- to 3-lb. brown trout.
