Lake Burton Fishing Report – December 2007

GON Staff | November 27, 2007

Burton: Level: Full pool. Temp: Low 50s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: The spotted bass are bitting well on topwater, said Wes. “Look for the bait rising on top. Try throwing a blue Mini Heddon or a Lucky Craft Pointer. These fish are hungry and trying to put on the weight for winter, some of them are in the 5-lb. range.”

Brown Trout: The trout fishing continues to be excellent, according to Wes Carlton of Little River Guide Service. “The trout are surfacing in the morning. Try working a black/blue fly or Rapala F3. These seem to be real hot baits. The trout are attempting to spawn in the creeks, so be patient and wait for them. Some of these trout are big, so take your time reeling them in,” Wes said.
