Lake Burton Fishing Report – April 2023

GON Staff | March 29, 2023

Burton: Level: 4 feet below full pool but rising. The lake should be at full pool by May 1. Temp: 55 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Guide Tyler Clore, of Georgia Cast & Blast, reports, “The bite has been really good, and with water temps starting to rise it will continue to improve. We have been catching most of our fish in the grass around the 10-foot mark.  We have been using a blueback-colored SPRO McStick jerkbait and a Keitech 3.8 swimbait with a Super Fish swimbait head. With the temps warming expect the fish to pull up in the shallows as they go on bed.

Trout: Guide Tyler Clore, of Georgia Cast & Blast, reports, “The trout bite has been slow. We have seen some schooling on the surface first thing in the morning. When you see themon the surface, cast your swimbait and jerkbait into the school. If the trout are smaller, use a Rapala countdown.
