Lake Blackshear Fishing Report September 2016

GON Staff | August 30, 2016

Blackshear: Level: Full. Temp: 85 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Crappie: Rusty Parker reports that crappie fishing has been slow but is starting to pick up some. Expect the bite to improve with cooling water temps. Fish will bite minnows tightlined 25 to 32 feet deep on main-lake channel ledges. Also, Rusty will start to catch them shooting docks in 13 to 15 feet of water. He likes a 1/24-oz. Sore Lips crappie jig in chartreuse/pink/chartreuse. Crisp County Power will start lowering the lake 3 1/2 feet beginning Nov. 1. They do this every other year for lake maintenance.
