Lake Blackshear Fishing Report September 2014
GON Staff | August 27, 2014
Blackshear: Level: Full pool. Temp: Mid to upper 80s. Clarity: Clear.
Crappie: Rusty Parker reports, “Wow I don’t see how the crappie are biting with this heat wave we are having now. A few good slabs have been caught along the railroad trestle close to Veterans Park. These have been caught using R.A.G. Fly jigs with the chartreuse/black/chartreuse and the chartreuse/pink/chartreuse. Start at the channel, and then work your way back toward the east side. Also, if you can find some deep structure, just fish down into or on top of the structure, and you should be able to catch a few. I also have heard that the catfish are biting really great off of the sand flats. Overall the fishing is slow, but if you are tough enough to stand this heat, then you should be able to catch a few good slabs.”
