Lake Blackshear Fishing Report – October 2010

GON Staff | September 29, 2010

Blackshear: Level: Full pool. Temp: About 84 degrees. Clarity: Stained.

Bass:
Brian Davis, who won the Sept. 25 Fishermen for the Hungry event with his partner Jim Murray Jr., said the fish are with the shad in the mouths of the creeks. The early topwater bite produced a 6 1/2-pounder and a few others from a main-lake seawalls on a CBT-painted, shad-pattern Zara Spook. The topwater bite should only get better through the month as temps drop and the bait moves farther into the creeks. Then it’ll be time to start looking for schooling fish and a topwater bite all day. For the time being, they finished their sack off fishing deeper docks at the mouths of the creeks with a CBT jig head rigged with a green-pumpkin Trick Worm.
