Lake Blackshear Fishing Report January 2011

GON Staff | January 3, 2011

Blackshear: Level: 1.8 feet below full pool. Temp: 49 degrees. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: Fair. Jim Murray Jr. reports, “The lake is slowly returning to full pool. For numbers, a Shad Rap or medium-diving crankbait around creek channels and shallow ledges have been producing. For the larger bites, flipping a CBT jig around boat docks usually puts a few big fish in the boat. On the lower end where the water is clearer, a CBT jerkbait has been producing hybrids, whites and largemouth bass.”
