Lake Blackshear Fishing Report – August 2010

GON Staff | July 27, 2010

Blackshear: Level: Full pool. Temp: 92 degrees. Clarity: Slight stain on the main river.

Bass:
Poor. Jim Murray Jr. reports, “The high water temperatures have put the fish in their summertime pattern. Big shady docks and brushpiles have been the most reliable cover lately. Both of these can be fished with CBT shaky head and a Zoom Trick Worm in a green-pumpkin-blue color. The schooling activity should start up soon, and the keepers will begin to show up on flats chasing shad. The best bite going now, though, is the night fishing. Dock lights and grassbeds have been producing big fish after the daylight hours. These fish have been biting big 10-inch worms or black buzzbaits.”
