Lake Blackshear Fishing Report – April 2009

Blackshear: Level: Full pool. Temp: 62 degrees. Clarity: Stained.

Bass:
The fish are on the banks bedding, and some good fish are starting to show up in tournament sacks. Fish around cypress trees and grasslines shallow with spinnerbaits, crankbaits, jerkbaits, floating worms or a Carolina rig.

Crappie: Very good. Rusty Parker said the crappie are up shallow, and folks are catching limits fishing cypress roots in less than 2 feet of water. Use a cork and minnow or shoot a a jig right up into the cypress balls to catch these fish.
