Clarks Hill Fishing Report June 2012

GON Staff | May 31, 2012

Clarks Hill: Level: 8.6 feet below full pool. Temp: 78-80 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Linesides: Guide William Sasser reports “June is one of my favorite months. The stripers will be on points and humps early in the mornings in 25 to 40 feet of water feeding on herring. They’ll also be in front of the dam at night. Fish live herring 30 feet deep. They will also be schooling below Russell dam morning and evening. A Gunfish works great.”

Crappie: William reports, “We are fishing brushpiles with minnows in 15 to 25 feet of water and catching coolers of fish. The bigger crappie are out in the middle of the lake in shallow water next to the river channels.”

Catfish: William reports, “This is the month for the catfish spawn on the lake. Carolina rigs with cut herring fishing the bridges and rip-rap early in the mornings is great.”
