It was an exciting last day of deer season for GON subscriber Courtney Baunoch, of Quitman. Courtney shot this big Brooks County buck after an 8-minute stare-down.

GON subscriber Andrew Carnley, 16, of Perry, holds his new personal best largemouth, a 7-lb., 10-oz. bass he caught on May 21 out of Ocmulgee PFA in Bleckley County.

This buck had a velvet mess on its head. Johnny Miller, of Carrollton, killed the unique deer on Nov. 2, 2020, while hunting in Talbot County.

Billy Murphy, of Conyers, with a 40-inch striper he caught and released while fishing Lake Jackson on March 18.

Sara Gibson, of Waycross, with her Ware County 8-pointer killed on Oct. 18. Sara’s buck netted 126 5/8, and she now ranks No. 16 all-time for Ware County at gon.com/deer-records.

Ricky Peebles rolled this Haralson County gobbler on a hunt with his son.

Okiche Betancourt with a shellcracker she caught April 21 while fishing with her husband Daniel Noble at Hugh Gillis PFA in Laurens County. For more info on the PFA, see the feature article from this July issue of GON.

This huge flathead catfish was caught on a limb line in the Oconee River in Laurens County. Stan Sheppard, his son Stanley Sheppard and Evan Donaldson were on the May 20 nighttime trip when a hook produced this 65-pounder. Stan said the catfish is the biggest ever caught for the group. The rod-and-reel record for that stretch of the Oconee is 62 pounds.

Lee McGraw, of Mt. Zion, with a 10-lb. Carroll County farm pond bass that he caught on April 13.

Joe Gordon, a GON subscriber from Forsyth County, spent six hours working this Dawson County swamp-bottom gobbler. Joe said, “Thank you Lord for patience and ThermaCell.”

It was a great season in the Taliaferro County turkey woods for the Sutton clan from Adairsville. Collin Sutton, 16, (top photo), accompanied by his father Corey, got his first turkey on April 9 at their hunting club in Taliaferro County. Connor Sutton (below), 15, also got his first turkey while hunting with his father Corey at the club. And not to be outdone, Dad also got his bird last season at the property.

Nick Adams with his Telfair County buck that had its nose to the ground trailing a doe on Oct. 29.

Towns County produced a first buck for Benjamin Wacha, a student at Young Harris College.

Wesley Long with a buck he killed last season on Nov. 19 in Whitfield County.

Hunter Rycroft caught this 46-lb. flathead on the Flint River near Albany. The river record is 43 pounds, but Hunter said he didn’t weigh the fish on certified scales. Heck of a catch!

Hayden Roberts was 17 years old last November when she got her biggest buck. Hayden was hunting in Colquitt County when she shot the 9-point.

Danny Neuhofer, of Dade City, Fla., with an 8-point buck taken Dec. 1 in Randolph County. Also in the picture is Lucy, a cur mix that found eight deer in her first season of blood trailing.
