Amanda Oliver had her 2-year-old daughter, Morgan, in the stand with her last December 30 in Greene County. “Morgan was laying in the floor of the condo stand with her blanket and a Care Bear and a propane heater,” Amanda said. This 10-pointer, shot that morning, was Amandaʼs second deer.

Wade Boyd of Locust Grove shot the turkey on the left, and then the other bird came at a dead run across the Monroe County field to the downed gobbler. Tom No. 1 — 17.2-lbs., 1-inch spurs, 9-inch beard. Tom No. 2 — 18.2-lbs., 1 1/8-inch spurs, 10-inch beard.

Steven Swords (right) of Columbus got his first turkey in 2001 while hunting in Early County with Toby Warr (left). The gobbler had five beards and one-inch spurs.

A trip to Lake Nottely last summer for Travis Rich, of Blairsville, turned into a memorable day of fishing. Travis, 17 at the time, caught this 38-lb., 45 1/2-inch long striper.
