Clay Turner got his best-ever buck this season hunting in Tift County. Clay shot the 11-pointer on Nov. 6.

Vonelloe “Bonnie” Brantley, of Mount Vernon, with a piebald buck she killed in Montgomery County on Dec. 31. Bonnie is 86 years old and proud to hunt by herself.

It’ll be shirtless pond-fishing time again soon. Last July 29, Christopher Johnson, of Chestnut Mountain, caught this nice bass on a Zoom lizard while fishing a Mount Airy pond.

Yes sir! Rory Foret got it done with a bow on public Corps of Engineers land near West Point Lake. Rory used a non-dominant grunt call, and the 180-lb. 7-point buck committed to a mock scrape to offer a 27-yard shot.

One shot, two hogs! GON member Diana Lindner, of Juliette, was blessed with a bonus pig after shooting a large sow in Upson County on Jan. 6.

Frank McCormick, of Enigma, killed this Worth County 8-point buck on opening weekend of gun season.

Donald Watkins, of Hull, with his Madison County 9-point buck that was in Week 8 of Truck-Buck.

This Cook County 9-pointer was following a doe Nov. 11 when Audie Rowe, of Adel, shot the buck.

“Persistence does pay off,” said David Ellis, of Tifton. He had seen this Crisp County buck before, and David made it happen on Nov. 11.
