A Gut Pile, Hawk & Bald Eagle
That ol’ trail camera on a gut pile trick… you never know what you’re going to get. You’re much more likely to get a bunch of vultures or coyotes than several pictures of a bald eagle, including one as the eagle postures in defense while a hawk flies by! Noah Csuka got these photos in Jackson County on Nov. 28.
SCI Game & Field Fair
Sportsmen looking for a fun weekend of shooting and outdoor activities have an option in northwest Georgia this weekend, April 1-3. SCI-Georgia is hosting the Game & Field Fair, billed as “an outdoor event for the whole family to enjoy, even your family pet!”
SCI, which takes the lead on protecting hunting rights worldwide, says, “As a weekend full of activities, it incorporates the very best exhibitors in their respected fields, with personalized demonstrations and classes, parties, sporting clay events and much more. We encourage you and your family to come, have some fun and see everything we have to offer.”
Seminars include a duck-dog and springer spaniel demonstrations, wood carving, cooking, proper gun fit and a casting demo.
The event will take place at the Beretta Shooting Grounds and High Adventure Company at Barnsley Resort in Bartow County. Visit gamefieldfair.com for more info and to register for the sporting clays event.
Where’s GON?
When a GON hat travels, it might just make Where’s GON.
Newnan’s Joe Hood said, “Me and my youngest son along with seven other guys from his church all got to go to Yakutat, Alaska on a salmon fishing trip. We saw moose, bears and lots of bald eagles. We didn’t catch as many as we had hoped for, but it was still a great trip. I thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime trip for me, but me and both my sons are planning to go back. Oh, by the way, they are delicious.”
