Lake Jackson Fishing Report – March 2025

GON Staff | February 26, 2025

Jackson: Level: 0.7 feet above 528. Temp: Upper 40s to low 50s. Clarity: The entire lake is stained but clearing.

Bass: Tournament angler Willie McMullen had 10.73 pounds the last Saturday in February in a local tournament. It took 11 pounds to win, and they had a 4-pounder. March will be good with straight-up power fishing. Cranking rocks and seawalls to fishing blowdowns with jigs with soft plastic trailers and spinnerbaits will catch good fish. Fish a 3/8-oz. jig and the same size spinnerbait. Also a bump a Spro Little John and a Shad Rap in crawfish and black/chartreuse colors on rocks. If there is a warming trend lasting several days, there will be a wave of spawning fish, even this early. It all depends on the weather. Personally, Willie prefers a cold March to keep the fish in pre-spawn longer.
