Lake Jackson Fishing Report – February 2025

GON Staff | January 29, 2025

Jackson: Level: 0.6 feet above 528. Temp: Upper 30s to low 40s. Clarity: Clear to lightly stained.

Bass: Tournament angler Willie McMullen said that fishing is slow in the cold water. Warm days should warm the water a little after the snow and arctic blast a couple of weeks ago. Warm rain will help. Crank rock since it retains heat, then follow up with a jig. Try crankbaits in shad colors in clear water and crawfish in stained. Deeper docks with brush have some bigger fish, but it’s hard to coax them to bite. For spots, use your electronics to find bait balls, and the spots will be nearby, along with hybrids and stripers. An A-rig and jerkbait will catch them. With the jerkbait, try different cadences until you find the one they want.
