Monika’s 160-Inch Bow-Buck From Peach County
Scott Hodges | November 23, 2024
Monika Stander killed a super 10-point buck in Peach County on Nov. 17, 2024 while bowhunting, and she had her 10-year-old son in the stand with her for the hunt. At about 5:30 p.m., the buck came in on a doe. Monika said the deer were moving in and and out of cover when she finally saw a window in the cover the buck was going to come through. She drew back and let the arrow fly—and it flew true. Taxidermist and GON content creator Scott Hodges rough-scored the buck’s rack at just over 160 total inches. The main-frame 10-pointer has 12-inch G2s and 25-inch main beams.
Incredibly, the day before Monika killed the 10-pointer, she shot a 130-inch 8-pointer with her bow, and her son was in the stand for that hunt, too.
Scott met up with Monika for a GON photo shoot and was able to talk to the bowhunter about her hunt and the incredible 2024 season she has had bowhunting in Peach County, Georgia.
