Ronnie Garrison | August 20, 2024
Sinclair: Level: 1.7 feet below at 340. Temp: 87-89 degrees. Clarity: Little River is stained but clearer toward the dam.
I won with three bass that weighed 8.04 pounds and won big fish with a 4.20-pounder. The big fish hit a weightless Trick Worm on a grass clump at 6:45 in the morning. My second keeper came a few minutes later when I flipped a 1/4-oz. Bitsy Flip Jig with a watermelon-red Creepy Crawler trailer into a blowdown. The trailer was dipped in chartreuse J.J.’s Magic. My third keeper hit a Trick Worm at 8 a.m. on a seawall in a foot of water back in a pocket. I saw the bass suck the worm in it was so shallow. I never got another bite the rest of the day as I punched grass and flipped docks for more than two hours after the sun came up.
Niles Murray had five bass weighing 7.22 pounds for second. He said he got two on back-to-back casts on a worm in a deep brushpile, two more on the worm under a dock within a couple casts of each other and a couple more keepers on various baits and patterns.
