Lake Eufaula Fishing Report – July 2024
GON Staff | June 26, 2024
Eufaula: Level: 0.5 feet above 188. Temp: 83 degrees. Clarity: Varies from a good stain to clear.
Bass: Capt. Sam Williams, of Hawks Fishing Guide Service, “The water level remains steady, and the shallow-water bite is holding steady where you find vegetation and cover. Frogs, flukes and spinnerbaits are good surface baits. Jigs with watermelon-candy trailers and Texas-rigged Trick Worms in the same color range are also a good bet. Bladed jigs with pearl-colored trailers worked around the edges are also working. Deeper bass are hitting deep crankbaits, Carolina rigs with dark, 10-inch worms and heavy jigs with black trailers.”
Crappie & Catfish: Capt. Sam Williams, of Hawks Fishing Guide Service, “Crappie are doing great on jigs and minnows on cover in 16 feet. Catfish are still eating cutbait on jugs on the creek ledges. The high winds are making it a challenge to keep them corralled. Fishing them in the creeks makes it easier to keep up with them. Bottom fishermen are doing well off the creek ledges. This hot spell makes it really rough on the water once the sun gets up. Be sure and keep your head covered and drink plenty of water. It is still a good day when you take a youngster out for a day in God’s outdoors and make memories. Pray for all our heroes in uniform and their families as they go out daily to keep us safe. Love one another as Jesus commanded.”
