Hunt Story
I had already had two encounters in the 2024 season with “Lucky”… both of which being too dark to shoot. On 9/27, the day following the hurricane, the temps dropped and I knew deer would be on their feet early. He stepped out into the field at 7:35 roughly 150 yards from me and came right to the plot where several other bucks were feeding. He fed 17 yards away from me for several minutes before lifting his head and looking the other direction, giving me a chance to draw. The shot was good and he ran roughly 125 yards before piling up.
