Hunt Story
I had seen this buck a few times during bow season, but he would never come in closer than 150 yards. Sunday night he came out in the cotton field in his usual spot. He was leaving the field, and I took a 265-yard shot. I missed, but the shot caused the deer to start heading my way. I reloaded my muzzleloader and was able to put a double lung shot on him at 130 yards. He ran 20-30 yards toward me and fell. My first velvet buck. Scored 136 2/8.
