Hunt Story
I was set up on a 16-acre soybean field that the deer have been killing since mid June. I got into my stand around 5pm Sunday afternoon hoping to kill a particular buck I had been getting pictures of all summer. By 6pm there was a few does in the field. Not long after that a nice 9-point that we call "weak left" entered the field with his usual 3 running partners. Around 8pm light was starting to fade, and I was wondering if he was going to show up or not. That's when I saw that familiar big row of tines come out from behind some limbs about 30 yards away. I stood up as quickly and quietly as I could, making sure I didn't spook any of the other 20 something deer that were around me and in the field. Once I had my 30 yard pin nestled behind the shoulder I squeezed the trigger and the rest is history. He took off towards the north side of the field and I watched him go down through my binoculars about 150 yards away.
