Hunt Story

Wednesday I was not able to get to Cedar Creek WMA land to mark myself a spot. We planned to hunt and camp at a friend's lake house named Scott Hudson. Since I was not able to make it, Scott marked a spot for me to hunt the first morning. I found the ribbon that he put out for me. I went in the area he marked about 150 yards to hang. I had to follow a wash down to where another wash down met. There was water in the creek where the two washes came together. I found a sweetgum tree to hang on. I put out trophy buck lure (Tinks) and went up my tree. I sat down for about 10 minutes then I turned my can over 3 times and a deer blew at me about 30 yards away. I didn't know it was there. I kept sitting there and looked over my left shoulder and he was standing there. I went to turn and shoot and he saw me. He ran off in the thicket but I could see him moving in it. I put my scope where I was seeing him and he stepped out enough so I could see his shoulder. I shot and broke his front legs and he ran out of sight but I could hear him. He was coming back to me. He got about 25 yards from me and stopped. I saw he was tired and wasn't going to die so I shot him in the neck to finished him off.
