Hunt Story

I am fortunate to hunt a small tract of land in Tift County with my two children. This deer appeared on trail cameras on our hunting land this year. On October 29 at 6:30 pm we got photos of him and a doe at one of our feeders. He stayed at that feeder approximately 31 minutes. I was hunting that afternoon about a hundred yards from that feeder, but never saw him. On Wednesday November3 about 1:45pm, while on my lunch break and going to put corn in feeders, I saw him in front of my stand. In fear I would bump him out of the area, I immediately left without filling the feeders. I have hunted every afternoon trying to catch him. Our trail cameras failed to catch anymore photos of him. My son and I would hunt stands relatively close together in the area trying to maximize the chance of one of us killing him. On November 6, around 7:45am he came in cruising the area immediately stopped, as if he knew something wasn’t right. He gave me a small window to make a decision whether to take him or not. I quickly counted five points on one side and shot. He ran about twenty yards and feel.
