Wildlife Festival Set For May 18 In Mansfield

The Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center’s (CEWC) Keeping Georgia WILD Festival is Saturday, May 18, 2019. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CEWC Discovery Area in Mansfield and will be held rain or shine.
Free admission includes an array of activities that focus on Georgia wildlife, conservation and outdoor recreational opportunities. Kids can try archery, fishing, shooting sports, tree climbing and mini-boat rides led by DNR conservation rangers. Live animal presentations, face painting, solar viewing with the Charlie Elliott Astronomy Club, and exhibitors displaying wildlife-themed booths add to the festivities. There will also be special events happening at other parts of the property.
The first 500 kids receive a free hot dog lunch. New to this year is a gun safety event with DNR Law Enforcement on the area’s gun range.
To get to CEWC, take I-20 to Exit 98. Travel south on Highway 11, go through Mansfield and continue 3 miles south to the entrance at Marben Farms Road on the left. Then follow the festival signs to the Discovery Area.
