Lease Hunting Land In Georgia? Take A Few Minutes For An Online Survey

GON Staff | March 30, 2015

The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia is again conducting research on hunting leases in Georgia. Hunters who lease property are being asked to take part in a quick online survey.

If you leased land from someone in Georgia in 2014, please take about five minutes and answer 12 questions about your hunting lease. You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this survey. The responses will help researchers to understand the economic value hunting leases provide to the Georgia economy.

In the first year of the research, the survey found that the average size of a Georgia hunting lease was 934 acres, and the average cost was $10.10 per acre.

If finding a hunting lease seems difficult, there’s a good reason. The survey found that 98 percent planned to renew their lease the following season.
