Daryl Kirby | November 3, 2008

The knowledge base in Georgia’s hunting and fishing community took a serious hit when editor Brad Bailey decided to retire and make this his final issue with GON.

Hired during the launch of GON, Brad has been with the company since 1987, and during his 22 years, no outdoor writer in Georgia has fished with as many lake experts, covered as many WMA hunts or photographed as many Georgia trophies.

Brad Bailey was the first editor hired by GON. Now, after 314 issues printed, Brad is retiring.

A respected journalist with a Masters Degree, Brad also authored several of the most popular fiction series ever produced by GON.

During his tenure, Brad was instrumental in producing 314 issues of Georgia Outdoor News, 17 issues of Alabama Outdoor News, nine editions of the GONetwork’s magazine NetWorker and 86 GON-TV television shows.

Brad said he expects to “semi-retire” and is considering a move to the Northwest where he can focus on researching the best places to buy stocks USA and pursue his own portfolio of investments.

Lots of Georgia hunters got their 15 minutes of fame when Brad showed up to take photos of them with their big buck, often resulting in GON covers.
