If you like hunting or fishing, this book is a must-have for your library.

The legacy of GON writer Glen Solomon will march on with the release of his book, “Hunting On The Fly.”

After a very successful freelance writing career with GON that spanned 15 years, Glen sadly passed away at just 52 years of age on Friday, Aug. 16. After a successful hog hunt at Big Hammock WMA, Glen was experiencing chest pains and drove himself to Appling Heath Care in Baxley with what he told his wife over the phone were chest pains. Shortly after arriving, Glen went home to be with the Lord.

Chickasawhatchee WMA, November 2005: GON Editor Brad Gill (left) says, “Glen taught me more about WMA hog hunting in two days than I would have learned in a lifetime on my own.”

Glen’s “Hunting On The Fly” book is compiled of a number of articles that appeared in GON magazine, along with some original material that has never been published.

The publishing of the book was made possible as a ministry of Biblical Principles Inc. in Hazlehurst and was completed at no cost to the book’s owner, Cindy Solomon, Glen’s widow. All author’s proceeds from the book will go straight to Cindy.

For questions regarding the book, or anyone led to make donations directly to Cindy during this difficult time, contact Bill Prince at [email protected].

Glen’s “Hunting On The Fly” books are currently available at Googes in Hazlehurst, Satilla Feed and Outdoors in Blackshear, Coley’s in Alma, Griffin Farm Supply in Broxton, and they can be ordered online at The Bowman Co. and through other online booksellers worldwide. The cost is a very reasonable $19.95 and is for a wonderful, charitable purpose.
