Georgia Trapping Licenses Now Available Online: No Paper Applications Needed
DNR Press Release | March 14, 2025
The Commercial Trapping License, the Landowner Trapping License and the Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator’s Permit (renewals only) are now available online for purchase without submitting a paper application.
Moving forward, follow these steps to purchase your trapping and Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator Permit:
• Visit GoOutdoorsGeorgia.com and select “Go To Site” under Licenses & Permits.
• Log in to your Customer Account (if you do not have an account, you will need to create one).
• Select “Purchase Licenses” and scroll down to “Commercial – LBRU”.
Based on your Residency settings on your system profile, you will see either:
-
- ID 1220 Resident Commercial Trapping License; and
- ID 1026 Landowner Trapping License; OR
- ID 1221 Non-Resident Commercial Trapping License; and
- ID 1026 Landowner Trapping License
• For the license(s) you need, select “Add To Cart,” complete the acknowledgements, and Checkout. The acknowledgements will have to be completed for each license purchased. Be sure when the “Transaction Confirmation” appears, you select “Print” to save your receipt and licenses. You will not have the option to do so later.
• If you have held a Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator Permit in the past, the system will ask if you would like to add this Permit at Checkout.
• If you select “Yes” then complete the acknowledgements, and Checkout.
A Nuisance Wildlife Control Operators Permit, issued by the Special Permit Unit of the Georgia DNR Law Enforcement Division, is required to live trap, possess, transport, and/or release into a suitable habitat certain nuisance wildlife outside the legal trapping season. Visit the Special Permits Unit website for more Nuisance Permit-related information: gadnrle.org/special-permits.
Your Trapping License and Nuisance Permit will not appear on any durable card you purchase from GoOutdoorsGeorgia.com; however, your licenses will appear on the Go Outdoors Georgia App. To download the App to your smartphone:
- Go to Google Play Store or Apple App Store and search Go Outdoors Georgia.
- Install the App, open the App, and then go to “My Licenses”.
- Select “Add Another License”, submit your information to login.
- Your purchased licenses will appear on this screen. If you purchase other licenses after your initial App install, hit “Sync” to pull in any licenses, like Trapping, you purchase.
Good luck trapping this year and thank you for your patience as we continue to get more licenses online for your convenience.
